Trust matters.

SMART® Health Card Issuers - The CommonTrust Network™

SMART® Health Cards are built on open standards, meaning they can technically be issued by anyone. For the safe reopening of offices, schools, businesses, and travel routes, individuals and organizations need to know which issuers can be trusted in which circumstances.  The CommonTrust Network provides an easy way to reference trusted issuers, simplifying the process of reading health credentials.

Who are Trusted Issuers?

Trusted issuers include clinical health systems and hospitals providing patient care, national and regional pharmacy chains, national and regional laboratory diagnostics providers, national and regional health insurance payors, and government and governmental agencies.

Policies describing trusted SMART® Health Card issuers are determined by VCI™ with broad community input. Please see here for more information.

There are a number of tools that can help you understand who is a trusted issuer.
